Some opinions of mine on the Vampire Diaries, since I’ve recently caught up since being in Rome. Under the cut. 

1. Alaric - my poor bb, why do these damn writers keep killing you and reviving you?? -outrage- I don’t even think I can properly write all my feels for Alaric. I just know that when Elena and Matt found him stabbed in the dark, my heart stopped and I pretty much cried when Elena had to kill him and then later when he finally woke up. What kills me now is I don’t see any way he could possibly live after the last episode - the only person that’s there is the “sexy-psycho doctor”, so there’s no one there to help him in time. What’s more is she shot him, which isn’t supernatural by any means, so he won’t come back to life if he does die. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that she’ll probably take his ring for good measure anyway, if she didn’t take it off when he was sleeping… of course, that’s if she was SMART about this, which I guess is up for grabs. 
   And we should probably take into account that like I’ve said earlier, the writers killed/revived him so many times (and more so recently.. like what, 2 episodes ago?! Jesus, Julie Plec, rip out my heart some MORE why don’t you) I feel like this might be it for good. I sincerely, really, seriously - every other serious word here - hope to God I am wrong, because I love Alaric and I feel like that would just be cruel to kill him off now. :( So please, my bb, pull through, so Damon can kick Dr. Fell’s ass for hurting you.
2. Bonnie - okay, I get it. Really, I do. You meet your mother for the first time, barely get to know her, and bam! suddenly she’s a vampire. But seriously, Bonnie? How about a little perspective? Yes, I know your grams died because of the vamps in the town and yes, I know you barely got to know your mom as an actual human being/witch before being turned into a vampire. But you’re not the only one that gets hurt. Caroline just watched her father die. Alaric keeps dying and coming back to life (and that is not by any means painless). Tyler can’t keep his thoughts straight being sired to Klaus, no matter how much he wants to. For Christ’s sake, he almost killed Caroline, the girl he loves. Matt almost died, too, though he didn’t know it. And then of course there’s Elena. Elena watched her mother, father, aunt die. She sent away her only real, blood family - her brother. She’s probably in agony every single day trying to figure out her feelings with Stefan mentally terrorizing her, not to mention how to approach whatever she’s feeling with Damon - so please, Bonnie, spare me the victimized act, because everyone has had collateral damage done to them at some point or another. And it’s not like your mother is dead, either - which Damon so could have easily done instead. So really, that’s all I have to say to you, Bonnie.
3. Damon - Damon, my poor bb. How I love you so. I love that he stepped up and did the deed for Stefan regarding Bonnie’s mom because we can all clearly see how being an ass is taking a toll on him. I hate how he always gets the short end of the stick, though. If only he could see the glowing fandom of us ladies and our love for him! Though while things kind of seem to be looking up for Stelena, I still have hope for us Delena fans because it’s obvious that Elena was hurt when Damon slept with Rebekah - btw, Damon, that thing you do where you sleep with random women after you’ve been hurt? Getting a touch old - what with her blabbing about it all over town (Bonnie, Caroline AND ALARIC YESSSS BEST PHONE CALL EVER YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I MEAN) and she wouldn’t do that if she didn’t feel SOMETHING strong. Also, I feel like that statement he made about bowing out (“She didn’t want me”) is a bit premature, since we really don’t know how Elena feels yet (I’ll just ignore that scene at the end of 3x14). 
4. Klaus - is it bad I don’t want Elena & Co. to kill him? He’s just so much FUN and I love the original family. I’m sorry, but they seem like an awesome bunch with a lot of personalities and I’m so sure there’s like 305843 plot lines the writers could have with them. I like that we’re starting to see a new side of him, that we can actually start to relate to him in some ways because having him always as the villain and seeing him only that way can get kind of boring. Also, I am LOVING his little plot line with Caroline. Seriously, my otp is switching gears from Damon and Elena to these two and I just don’t CARE. I want so much for them… Caroline, just let him take you to Rome and Paris and that way everyone else will be happy he’s gone and you’ll be abroad and in love. Perfect plan.

I doubt anyone will read this, but if you did, props to you! I’m excited for next week (or whenever the new episode is) and I am forever hopeful that Alaric is alive and well. Damn you, Julie Plec, for continuously ripping out my heart.
